UPDATE at 10:20 a.m. — Well, we give FDOT credit for not hesitating to issue an alert. Whatever as going on is now cleared. Gateway just reopened. We’ll let you know what was happening just as soon as we find out.
BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A head’s up if you’re heading northbound on I-95 and planning to get off this morning at Gateway Boulevard. It’s not happening. At least not as of 10 a.m.
The Florida Department of Transportation just alerted that there is police activity in the area. We are monitoring but can not determine just yet what the “police activity” is. There are no reports of accidents in the area. We do see FHP and Boynton Beach Police on the scene. A Road Ranger is also in the area.
We are awaiting an official update from Boynton Beach Police. FHP has not issued any advisories. Traffic is backing up in the area.
If you stay on I-95 and go past Gateway, you’ll be fine. If you try to get off at Gateway, you’ll be stuck.
