BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca West Country Club is continuing its long-standing tradition of giving back — joining forces with Habitat for Humanity for a groundbreaking ceremony in South Bay. Board members and the club’s president gathered at 145 NW 10th Ave to kick off construction on a new home, marking the 16th time in 15 years that Boca West has served as a primary home sponsor. This partnership remains a cornerstone of the club’s efforts to provide stable, affordable housing for hard-working individuals in the local community.

The future homeowner is Vintwon Jones, an Army National Guard veteran and Belle Glade native who has spent much of his life serving others. Since joining the military in 2020, Jones has dedicated his time to charitable work, ranging from feeding the homeless to traveling to Jamaica to help build a school and church. Encouraged by his mother to look into the program, Jones is now transitioning from a lifetime of service to others to building a permanent foundation of his own.

The path to homeownership isn’t just about a down payment; it’s about “sweat equity.” As part of the Habitat program, Jones will be working alongside volunteers to build the structure while completing courses on budgeting and home maintenance. This hands-on approach ensures that once the keys are handed over, he will have the tools and financial knowledge to maintain the property for years to come. For Jones, the project represents a chance to lay down roots in the very area where he was raised.

Boca West leadership expressed pride in supporting the veteran’s journey toward independence. Matthew Linderman, CCM, President, COO, and General Manager of Boca West Country Club, said that the membership remains inspired by Jones’s story and his dedication to the community. Linderman emphasized that investing in programs with the power to change lives is a central part of the club’s legacy, ensuring that local families have the stability they need to thrive.
