UPDATE 9:57 a.m. — Palm Beach County HazMat teams work quickly. Looks like the situation is resolved. If you see anything in the area, it should be cleared within the next 10 minutes or so.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Multiple HazMat teams from Palm Beach County are on their way as of 9:28 a.m. to the area of Glades and U.S. 441 for a gas line that was apparently struck by a construction crew.
While these calls are somewhat routine, the location means that it is likely to impact a huge number of people driving through — or shopping in — the area Friday morning.
The address — 9857 Glades — is right across from Home Depot and right in front of Walgreens. It’s not immediately clear if the issue is actually in one of the shopping centers or on Glades Road.
Expect delays in the area for part of the morning. We’ll update once the scene is cleared.
