BY: ANDREW COLTON | Editor and Publisher | BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — New video obtained by BocaNewsNow.com shows a man identified as Mitchell Schuman throwing a water bottle at the boy who was later physically restrained by a group of men in the West Boca Raton community of Lotus — men who also took the child’s cell phone and deprived him of speaking with his mother. The men did this as a number of women are heard complaining that children don’t work in the community of million dollar homes.

As we first reported, Mitchell Schuman, a legal professional but not a lawyer, was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office after they reviewed the new video, below. However, Schuman was given a “notice to appear” instead of being handcuffed and jailed. That is not normal procedure for violent altercations that include depriving someone of using their cell phone or other communication device.

Watch as a man identified as Mitchell Schuman seems to throw a water bottle at the boy in the Lotus community in West Boca Raton’s. Schuman was arrested after police reviewed the video, but only given a “notice to appear.”

A spokesperson for Palm Beach County State Attorney Alexcia Cox directed all questions to PBSO. BocaNewsNow.com is awaiting further information from PBSO investigators but has learned the case remains open.

Schuman is one of several men seen in the video. Based on now erroneous information from people connected to the case, BocaNewsNow.com misidentified the man seen in the photo below as being Mitchell Schuman. It is not. But neither this man — nor any of the others — have requested a correction or clarification. The man seen holding the child is also potentially committing a crime — it’s illegal to touch or restrain someone without their permission.

  1. Thank you BocaNewsNow.com for exposing this. These are horrible people who live in a horrible community. I don’t know why anyone would want to put up with these people. Kids should be allowed to ride bikes without condo commandos throwing water bottles. I hope all of these men and some of the women are jailed. Time to take off the ALO yogawear and put on inmate clothes!

  2. These adults should be ashamed … it was mob mentality against a child. They have forgotten what it is to be a kid. I hope they all have to go to court and spend money on lawyers. Disgusting.

  3. Hopefully the kids parents are getting counsel ready for a lawsuit. This was illegal on multiple counts, and traumatizing for the child. Seems like there should be criminal charges, then a civil lawsuit. The only way these people learn is to have their pockets hit hard.

  4. They’re all guilty! That boy was telling the truth and not ONE listened to him and tried to help. The police need to do there job here and prosecute each and everyone- just like teens get in trouble for recording and not stepping in we need to hold the adults to the same if not more regard.

We (the public) need to create enough demand to hold these people accountable and not let “who they know” influence how this case is handled. They will listen to the public. Like and share!! We have an opportunity

  5. Living in an “expensive” community doesnt require class. Dont put your hands on anyone’s child. Dont think youre being a clown by childishly taking away the phone he wants to call his parent on. The woman with the big mouth is worse than any child doing wheelies. And, yes, 10 year olds doont have jobs, where is yours? The recording shows the stupidity of small people who need to get a life.

  6. All of these adults should do at least a few days of jail time. Those that were actively touching him or endangering him should do significantly more. They have no business touching this kid, harassing him, or stealing his phone.

  7. All of these adults need to be arrested and charged NOW everyone is equal they assaulted a child. They should not be given privileges of any kind the pb attorneys office needs to do better. They are criminals arrest and charge them

  8. They should be ashamed of themselves for picking on a little boy, as a mother the rage I felt after seeing something like this they need to stop playing with people’s kids.

  9. What an absolute embarrassment to themselves, their community, and their professions. Same kind of folks who would complain that “kids don’t do kid stuff” anymore and then go and knock a kid off a bike for popping a wheelie- what in the world?! And of course at least one is an attorney, who absolutely knows it’s illegal to knock someone off their bike, it’s illegal to keep someone’s phone from them, and it’s definitely illegally to physically restrain someone (especially someone else’s child). Insane behavior that not ONE of these adults had an ounce of sensibility between them to end this.

  10. Adults should never put their hands on kids – absolutely correct. But, maybe this would not have occurred if the parents of the kids taught them to be respectful of others. These kids on e bikes are arrogant, dont give a darn about being in the street because they know that the police dont do anything about it. Start parenting so your kids dont grow up to be bratty arrogant adults.

Small people – small problems…Big people – big problems!

Maybe as adults and parents; we should own up to it to raise our kids right.

    1. Give me a break! You’re going to blame parents for what these adults ILLEGALLY did to minor? You must have the luxury of living in a 55+ community where your brain shrinks. Dumbest f’ing comment of the day. BTW, you touch my kid, I’m coming for you.

    2. Seems like you’re the type of guy that would have stepped in and been just had horrible as the men in the video. Heck maybe you are one of those creeps.
Those men were clearly raised a lot worse than that kid

  11. It’s pretty funny these “Adults” think this boy can’t live in a million dollar community. Pretty embarrassing to think you’re Wealthy, when you’re actually not. Sadly they don’t know their middle class. LMAO. Such Losers.
