DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit is asking the public for help identifying anyone who may have had contact with a man now charged with kidnapping and sexual battery. Detectives believe there could be additional victims connected to Verwayne Alexander, who is currently being held in the Palm Beach County Jail. He is known to drive a gray 2019 Chevrolet Trax.
The case began on March 24, 2026, when Alexander was driving in the 1000 block of Ingraham Avenue and approached a female pedestrian under the guise of asking for directions while engaging in indecent behavior. He then drove to Lake Ida Dog Park, where he parked and continued the same behavior while watching people in the area. The Delray Beach Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for four counts of Indecent Exposure, and Alexander was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on April 2, 2026.
The investigation took a turn when detectives responded to a report of an armed kidnapping and sexual battery on March 30, 2026. A suspect was identified and probable cause was established. On April 3, detectives interviewed Alexander, and he was subsequently charged with one count of Kidnapping and one count of Sexual Battery by coercion and threat.
Anyone who has had contact with Alexander, or who has information related to the case, is urged to contact Detective J. Guarducci through PBSO Communications at 561-688-3400 or 561-688-4148. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477), or through the PBSO app at pbsoapp.com using the “See Something” feature.
Verwayne Alexander is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
