BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is facing a felony charge after police say he retrieved a wrench from his vehicle and charged at another driver following a crash on West Glades Road. Luis Felipe Marin, 54, was arrested Sunday evening and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a third-degree felony.

According to a Boca Raton Police Department arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, officers responded to 1500 W. Glades Road around 5:27 p.m. on April 19 for a reported two-vehicle accident. Both drivers initially said they did not want to file an accident report, but a verbal confrontation between the two men had already escalated into something far more serious. A passenger in the other driver’s vehicle captured the altercation on a cellphone.

Video reviewed by the arresting officer showed Marin walking back to his vehicle, retrieving a wrench, and advancing toward the other driver while making threats. According to the affidavit, Marin could be heard saying he was going to hit the other man “with something” and telling him to “come on.” The other driver told police he feared he was about to be struck. After being read his Miranda rights, Marin initially acknowledged retrieving the wrench and returning toward the other driver — but later denied making any threats. Police noted that walking away would have been the more reasonable choice if Marin truly feared the other driver, as he claimed.

Marin was booked into the Palm Beach County jail on the evening of April 19 and was later released on $4,000 bond.
