Agents Raided Home In Late 2025. Now Hugo Jimenez, Boca Raton St. Paul Lutheran Church Volunteer, Nabbed On Federal Charges…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A South Florida man who volunteered at a Boca Raton church school — helping kids play volleyball — is facing federal charges after FBI agents say they found thousands of child sexual abuse images on his iPhone. Hugo Andre Jimenez was charged in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida with receipt and possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors, according to a criminal complaint filed by Assistant U.S. Attorney Katie Wilson. After initially telling parents the school was not involved, BocaNewsNow.com has obtained letters from the school revealing that its launched an internal investigation.
According to an affidavit signed by FBI Special Agent Gennady Julien and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, agents executed search warrants on Jimenez’s person, vehicle, and Boca Raton residence on October 23, 2025. During a post-Miranda interview, Jimenez confirmed ownership of an Apple iPhone and a MacBook and provided the phone’s passcode to investigators. He admitted to having accessed the dark web but denied seeking illicit material there.

Forensic examination of the iPhone told a different story, according to federal investigators. Agents say they found 46 images depicting the sexual abuse of pre-pubescent children, along with thousands of additional files linked to a website known to law enforcement as a platform for the sexual exploitation of adolescents. Digital artifacts on the phone showed a connection to a dark web child sexual abuse site on August 29, 2025. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reviewed submitted materials and identified 14 separate confirmed series of child sexual abuse material.
Jimenez faces up to 20 years in federal prison on the receipt count, which carries a mandatory minimum of five years, and up to an additional 20 years on the possession count. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
