Nearly 200 projects are expected to cause major problems in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and across Palm Beach County this week.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — From Lyons Road near Century Village to I-95, from 441 to Atlantic Avenue and even the Turnpike, get ready for big problems this week in Palm Beach County. Nearly 200 road and bridge construction projects are active or scheduled, according to the Florida Department of Transportation and the Palm Beach County Traffic Division. Here is a complete breakdown of every active project and traffic restriction.


FDOT MAJOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

INTERSTATE 95

S.R. 9/I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange Improvements — This $64 million, 2.354-mile project is underway north and south of Boynton Beach Boulevard, including on- and off-ramps and Boynton Beach Boulevard from Old Boynton Road to NW 3rd Avenue. Work includes bridge widening, new turn lanes, bicycle lanes, LED lighting, and sidewalk upgrades. Expected completion: Early 2029.

  • Eastbound Boynton Beach Boulevard from west of NW 8th Street to east of W. Industrial Avenue is reduced from three to two through lanes with temporary barrier wall in place through late 2026. The northbound outside turn lane on NW 8th Street at Boynton Beach Boulevard is closed.
  • Boynton Beach Boulevard from Old Boynton Road to NW 3rd Avenue may have one lane closed in each direction, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Saturday nights, for bridge construction. Single lane closures are permitted Friday and Saturday nights on Boynton Beach Boulevard only.
  • The Boynton Beach Boulevard westbound turn lane to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp may be closed, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. Detour: via W. Industrial Ave., U-turn to eastbound Boynton Beach Boulevard.
  • One lane of I-95 may be closed in each direction beginning at 8 p.m., with up to three lanes closed in each direction, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. A fourth lane may close overnight as needed.
  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Boynton Beach Boulevard may close nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Detour: northbound exit to Woolbright Road, east to U.S. 1, north to Boynton Beach Blvd.
  • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Boynton Beach Boulevard may close nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Detour: southbound exit to Gateway Boulevard, east to U.S. 1, south to Boynton Beach Blvd.
  • The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Boynton Beach Boulevard may close nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Detour: east on Boynton Beach Blvd. to U.S. 1 or west to Congress Avenue, north to Gateway Blvd.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Boynton Beach Boulevard may close nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Detour: east on Boynton Beach Blvd. to U.S. 1 or west to Congress Ave., south to Woolbright Road.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from Boynton Beach Boulevard has temporary barrier wall on both sides through late 2026; traffic is slightly shifted on the ramp.
  • I-95 entrance and exit ramps at Boynton Beach Boulevard may have one lane closed nightly, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

S.R. 9/I-95 Ramps Safety Improvement Project — This $1.2 million, 0.902-mile project on I-95 ramps at Okeechobee Boulevard, PGA Boulevard, and Indiantown Road began January 20, 2026. Work includes high friction surface installation, LED lighting upgrades, guardrail replacement, and digital speed feedback signage. Expected completion: Summer 2026.

  • The I-95 southbound off-ramp to eastbound S.R. 706/Indiantown Road will be closed, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, for pavement marking installation (May 6–7 are contingency dates). Detour: exit to Indiantown Road west, U-turn at Florida Turnpike entrance, east on Indiantown Road.
  • The I-95 northbound off-ramp to westbound S.R. 786/PGA Boulevard will be closed, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, May 5 (May 6–7 contingency). Detour: exit to PGA Blvd. east, U-turn at Lake Victoria Gardens Ave., west on PGA Blvd.
  • The I-95 northbound off-ramp to westbound S.R. 706/Indiantown Road will be closed, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, May 5 (May 6–7 contingency). Detour: exit to Indiantown Road east, U-turn at 68th Terrace N./Island Way, west on Indiantown Road.

SOUTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY (Boca Raton, Highland Beach, Delray Beach)

U.S. 441/S.R. 7 Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation Project — This $9.5 million, 3.403-mile project from north of Glades Road to north of Bridgebrook Drive was Final Accepted by FDOT on April 20, 2026. No further traffic impacts from this project.

S.R. 806/Atlantic Avenue Reconstruction Project (Delray Beach/Boynton Beach) — This $26 million, 2.760-mile project on Atlantic Avenue from west of U.S. 441 to east of Florida’s Turnpike, and on U.S. 441 from south of Rio Grande Avenue to south of Tivoli Island Boulevard, began January 20, 2025. Work includes widening to four and six lanes, new turn lanes, sidewalks, bike lanes, canal relocation, and fiber optic installation. Expected completion: Summer 2028.

  • One northbound lane on S.R. 7/U.S. 441 may be closed from Rio Grande Avenue to just south of Atlantic Avenue, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • One northbound lane on S.R. 7/U.S. 441 may be closed from just north of Atlantic Avenue to Tivoli Isles Boulevard, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • One southbound lane on S.R. 7/U.S. 441 may be closed from Tivoli Isles Boulevard to just north of Atlantic Avenue, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • One southbound lane on S.R. 7/U.S. 441 may be closed from just south of Atlantic Avenue to 105th Drive South, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • One eastbound turn lane on Atlantic Avenue may be closed from Wawa back entrance to S.R. 7/U.S. 441, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • The northbound sidewalk between Atlantic Avenue and Saturnia Isles Boulevard is closed; pedestrians detoured to the southbound sidewalk.
  • One eastbound lane on Atlantic Avenue may be closed from Lyons Road to the Turnpike, 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
  • One westbound lane on Atlantic Avenue may be closed from Lyons Road to the Turnpike, 7 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday through Thursday.
  • The westbound left-turn lane on Atlantic Avenue between Mulvehill Road and S.R. 7/U.S. 441 is permanently closed until roadway widening is complete.
  • The westbound sidewalk on the north side of Atlantic Avenue from Lyons Road to the Turnpike is closed; pedestrians detoured to the eastbound sidewalk on the south side.
  • One lane in each direction on Smith Sundy Road may be closed between Storage Zone Gate and Atlantic Avenue, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flaggers in use.

S.R. 806/Atlantic Avenue & Homewood Boulevard / S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard & Haverhill Road Intersection Improvements — This $3.2 million, 0.4-mile project began October 21, 2025. Work includes new traffic signal mast arms, extended turn lanes, LED pedestrian signals, LED lighting, and sidewalk upgrades at both intersections. Expected completion: Late 2026.

  • One lane in each direction at Atlantic Avenue and Homewood Boulevard/High Point Boulevard will be closed intermittently, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, for bores/lighting/signalization work. Flaggers in use.
  • One lane in each direction on Atlantic Avenue east and west of Homewood Boulevard/High Point Boulevard will be closed intermittently, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, May 4 through Thursday, May 7, for pavement marking installation.
  • One eastbound and westbound lane at S.R. 704/Okeechobee Boulevard and Haverhill Road will be closed intermittently, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, for signalization work. Flaggers in use.
  • One lane in each direction on Okeechobee Boulevard east and west of Haverhill Road will be closed intermittently, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, May 4 through Thursday, May 7, for pavement marking installation.
  • One lane in each direction on Haverhill Road north and south of Okeechobee Boulevard will be closed intermittently, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8. Flaggers in use.
  • Right turn lanes at Haverhill Road and Okeechobee Boulevard will be closed intermittently, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8. Flaggers in use.

CENTRAL PALM BEACH COUNTY (Boynton Beach, Lake Worth Beach, Royal Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach)

S.R. 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation — This $2.7 million, 0.595-mile project from east of Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Drive in Boynton Beach began January 22, 2026. Work includes milling, repaving, curb ramp upgrades, median reconstruction, LED pedestrian signals, and new bicycle markings. Expected completion: Fall 2026.

  • One outside lane in each direction on Boynton Beach Boulevard from east of Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Drive will be closed intermittently, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, for electrical work.
  • Two lanes in one direction at a time on Boynton Beach Boulevard (same limits) will be closed, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., through Sunday, May 3, for milling and resurfacing.

S.R. 5/U.S. 1 Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation (West Palm Beach) — This $3.9 million, 1.044-mile project from Belvedere Road to south of Okeechobee Boulevard is scheduled to begin in May 2026. Work includes milling, resurfacing, new mid-block crosswalk, ADA curb ramp upgrades, overhead flashing school zone beacons, and LED lighting. Expected completion: Early 2027.

  • One lane may be closed in each direction from Belvedere Road to Okeechobee Boulevard, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, for concrete work.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from S.R. 802/Lake Avenue to Ibis Way (Lake Worth Beach / Palm Beach) — This $5.9 million, 2.074-mile project began May 3, 2025. Work includes milling, repaving, 5-foot bike lanes, LED pedestrian signals, decorative lighting, new traffic signal mast arm and RRFB, sidewalk upgrades, and drainage improvements. Expected completion: Summer 2026.

  • One lane may be closed daily, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and nightly, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Friday, through June 2026, with a flagging operation for grading, sod installation, and final striping.
  • One lane of Lake Avenue just west of the S.R. A1A intersection may also be closed in each direction during the same hours through June 2026.
  • Temporary pedestrian detour route is in use throughout the work zone as needed.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Boulevard from Emerald Beach Way to S.R. 704/Royal Palm Way (Palm Beach) — This $8.2 million, 2.3-mile project began May 27, 2025. Work includes milling, repaving, new decorative and standard traffic signal mast arms, pedestrian signal upgrades, drainage improvements, decorative street lighting, sidewalk upgrades, and sharrow bicycle markings. Expected completion: Late 2026.

  • One lane may be closed with a flagging operation, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Summer 2026, for concrete work, sidewalk replacement, and work site restoration.
  • Drilled shaft installation for new traffic signal mast arms is ongoing; work remains at the southwest corner of Peruvian Avenue and the southwest corner of Worth Avenue.
  • Sidewalk replacement and site restoration are ongoing at Royal Palm Way (NW and SW corners), Town of Palm Beach Fire Station No. 1 (SE corner), Peruvian Avenue (NE corner), Golfview Road (NW corner), and Hammon Avenue (SE corner).
  • Sunday through Thursday nights, work may occur approximately 12 a.m. to 9 a.m., with lane closures and flagging to stage equipment.
  • Portions of the sidewalk remain closed with pedestrian detours in place.

NORTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY (Riviera Beach, Lake Park, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Juno Beach, Jupiter, Tequesta)

U.S. 1/S.R. 5 Roadway Improvements Project (Riviera Beach / Lake Park / North Palm Beach) — This $13.4 million, 3.042-mile project from 59th Street to Northlake Boulevard began August 27, 2025. Work includes milling, repaving, new bike lanes, median sections, a 10-foot shared use path on the Port of Palm Beach bridge, LED and decorative lighting, and signal upgrades. Expected completion: Late 2027.

  • The northbound sidewalk on U.S. 1/S.R. 5 from Access Road to W. 11th Street is closed through June 2026. Right-turn access to E. 11th Street is also closed; for cruise terminal access, continue straight and use 13th Street.
  • One outside lane closed in each direction from 59th Street to Northlake Boulevard, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Northeast corner sidewalks at U.S. 1/S.R. 5 and Blue Heron Boulevard are closed, Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, for concrete and signalization work.

S.R. 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction Project (Palm Beach Gardens / Riviera Beach / West Palm Beach) — This $148.2 million, 3.142-mile project from Northlake Boulevard to Blue Heron Boulevard began March 18, 2024. Work includes widening from four to six lanes, replacing and widening the Florida’s Turnpike bridge, a Continuous Flow Intersection at Northlake Boulevard, sidewalks, bike lanes, railroad crossing upgrades, and ITS improvements. Expected completion: Late 2029.

  • Beeline Highway lanes from Military Trail to Blue Heron Boulevard are reduced to one inside lane through May 2026.
  • Beeline Highway from Blue Heron to Northlake Boulevard has one inside lane closed in each direction, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Beeline Highway and Northlake Boulevard have one inside lane closed in each direction, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Southeast-bound Beeline Highway west of Northlake Boulevard will have one outside lane closed Monday, May 4, 7 a.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Beeline Highway and Jog Road have one inside lane closed in each direction, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Beeline Highway and Haverhill Road have one inside lane closed in each direction, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Beeline Highway from Military Trail to Blue Heron Boulevard has one lane closed in each direction, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Westbound traffic on Beeline Highway is shifted to the median from just east of the Turnpike to Blue Heron Boulevard.
  • One southeast-bound lane on Beeline Highway is closed, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • One outside southeast-bound lane on Beeline Highway from south of Haverhill Road to north of Jog Road is closed, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, for demolition.
  • The Beeline Highway northwest ramp to eastbound Northlake Boulevard remains temporarily closed; anticipated to reopen Spring 2026. During closure, continue on Beeline Highway and turn right at the light to access eastbound Northlake Boulevard.
  • The southeast Beeline Highway left turn lane to eastbound Blue Heron Boulevard is closed around the clock through May 2026. Detour: southeast on Beeline Highway, north on Military Trail, east on Blue Heron Boulevard.
  • Westbound Blue Heron Boulevard to northwest-bound Beeline Highway has been shifted to the outside newly constructed lane from Beeline Highway to south of N. Haverhill Road, through May 2026.
  • Motorists westbound on Blue Heron Boulevard wishing to access southbound N. Haverhill Road must detour via southbound Military Trail, northwest-bound Beeline Highway, and southbound N. Haverhill Road.
  • Eastbound Blue Heron Boulevard from Beeline Highway to Military Trail has one outside lane closed, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Northlake Boulevard west of Beeline Highway has one lane closed in each direction as needed, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Northlake Boulevard east of Beeline Highway has one lane closed in each direction as needed, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Northlake Boulevard lanes at the Beeline Highway intersection have been temporarily shifted; U-turns in both directions are not available through Winter 2026.
  • Florida’s Turnpike from south of the Beeline Highway overpass to just north of the overpass will have one lane closed in each direction, Sunday nights 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and Monday through Thursday nights 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., through May 2026.
  • Turnpike southbound lanes in the same zone have been temporarily shifted through Spring 2026.

U.S. 1/S.R. 5 Earman River Bridge Replacement (North Palm Beach) — This $13.7 million, 0.175-mile project from Northlake Boulevard to just north of Anchorage Drive began February 10, 2025. Work includes replacing the bridge over the Earman River, adding a second right-turn lane from southbound U.S. 1 to westbound Northlake Boulevard, bike lanes, and infrastructure upgrades. Expected completion: Summer 2027.

  • Southbound U.S. 1 Earman River Bridge traffic has been shifted to the new northbound bridge with two lanes open in each direction; this shift remains in place until Spring 2027.
  • The southbound outside lane from Anchorage Drive to Northlake Boulevard is closed intermittently, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.
  • Southbound and northbound bike lanes end at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Northlake Boulevard to Anchorage Drive.
  • The Earman River channel is closed through Spring 2027. Mariners may take an alternate route to the Intracoastal Waterway north to the Lighthouse Bridge.

WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY (Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, South Bay, Belle Glade, Pahokee, Canal Point)

S.R. 7/U.S. 441 Resurfacing at S.R. 802/Lake Worth Road — This $3.4 million, 0.225-mile project near Lake Worth Road is anticipated to have begun in April 2026. Work includes milling, resurfacing, a dedicated northbound right-turn lane, new sidewalk, upgraded signals, LED lighting, and guardrail modifications. Expected completion: Early 2027.

  • Northbound S.R. 7/U.S. 441 will have the outside right lane and adjacent lane closed intermittently, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, for earthwork and equipment mobilization.

S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard Ramps and S.R. 7/U.S. 441 Ramp Improvements Project — This $8.3 million, 0.779-mile project on U.S. 441 and Southern Boulevard on- and off-ramps, from south of the C-51 Canal to north of S.R. 80, is anticipated to have begun in February 2026. Work includes roadway and canal bridge widening, new signal mast arms, LED lighting, and sidewalk upgrades. Expected completion: Summer 2027.

  • One outside lane along northbound and southbound S.R. 7/U.S. 441 will be closed intermittently, Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, for signalization and electrical work.
  • One lane on northbound and southbound S.R. 7/U.S. 441 will be closed intermittently, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, for roadway work.
  • The northbound right-turn lane at the S.R. 7/U.S. 441 on-ramp to eastbound Southern Boulevard is continuously closed for bridge widening.
  • Northeast and southeast sidewalks at S.R. 7/U.S. 441 and Southern Boulevard are closed continuously through Summer 2026 for bridge widening. Pedestrian detours in place.

U.S. 27/S.R. 25 EAA Reservoir Inflow-Outflow Canal Bridges Project — This $20.9 million, 0.37-mile project on U.S. 27, 27 miles north of the I-75 interchange, began January 5, 2026. Work includes canal dredging in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District, new northbound and southbound U.S. 27 bridges, drainage swales, guardrails, and concrete barrier walls. Expected completion: Late 2028.

  • Intermittent single lane closures in each direction on U.S. 27/S.R. 25 may be needed, Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for maintenance repairs.
  • Southbound and northbound mainline traffic on U.S. 27/S.R. 25 remains shifted east through December 31, 2026, for bridge and canal construction along the west side of the roadway.
  • Speed limit within the project limits is reduced from 65 mph to 55 mph.

S.R. 700/Conners Highway Embankment Repairs – Slope Protection Project — This $1.3 million, 0.14-mile project, 1.7 miles south of Hatton Highway, is anticipated to start June 1, 2026. Work includes repairing the L-10 Canal, shoulder reconstruction, milling, resurfacing, and guardrail replacement. Expected completion: Late 2026.

  • Advance Notice: S.R. 700/Conners Highway from Hatton Highway to S.R. 80/U.S. 98 will be closed throughout construction beginning in June 2026.
  • Northbound detour: S.R. 80/U.S. 98 east, right on Hatton Highway, left onto Conners Highway.
  • Southbound detour: right on Hatton Highway, left onto S.R. 80/U.S. 98.

MAINTENANCE, UTILITY, PERMIT & ADDITIONAL AGENCY PROJECTS

I-95 (West Palm Beach): Northbound and southbound I-95 between Lantana Road and Congress Avenue will have up to three lanes closed for RPM replacement, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, May 4 through Thursday, May 7, and 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, May 10 through Thursday, May 14. Florida’s Turnpike at Boynton Beach Boulevard (Exit 86): Construction activities that began in late January 2025 continue through Spring 2026 with daytime and nighttime work at the S.R. 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard interchange. Contact: Brielle Gordon, 954-934-1279 or 1-800-749-PIKE.

Florida’s Turnpike Bridge Widening over S.R. 80/Southern Boulevard: Westbound Southern Boulevard has one inside lane continuously closed from the northbound Turnpike entrance to west of Pike Road through May 2026 for phase one, step two of the Turnpike bridge widening. S.R. 808/Glades Road at S.R. 7/U.S. 441 (Boca Raton): Eastbound and westbound Glades Road at U.S. 441 will have one lane closed from 9 p.m. Sunday, May 3 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 4 for pavement marking refurbishing. Contact: Tameaka Channer, 561-370-1156.

S.R. 809/Military Trail at Summit Boulevard (West Palm Beach): Northbound Military Trail at Summit Boulevard will have one lane closed, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, May 3, for sign installation. Contact: Tameaka Channer, 561-370-1156.

PGA Boulevard / I-95 Off-Ramp (Palm Beach Gardens): The northbound I-95 off-ramp to eastbound PGA Boulevard and eastbound PGA Boulevard from west of Military Trail to west of RCA Boulevard will have one outside lane closed intermittently for force main installation, excavation, and directional bore work, weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., through May 2026. Southeast corner sidewalks from PGA Boulevard and Military Trail to the southbound I-95 off-ramp entrance are closed; pedestrians routed to the northeast corner sidewalk. S.R. 7/U.S. 441 from Lake Worth Road to Southern Boulevard (Wellington): Eastbound and westbound U.S. 441 from Lake Worth Road to Southern Boulevard will have one lane closed, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., Sunday, May 3 through Wednesday, May 6, for RPM installation. Contact: Tameaka Channer, 561-370-1156.

Long-Term Road/Lane Closure Projects

  1. SW 66th Avenue south of Sandalfoot Boulevard (District 5): Gravity main installation. Southbound SW 66th Avenue is closed; traffic detoured via Sandalfoot Boulevard, U.S. 441, SW 18th Street, and SW 65th Avenue.
