SWATTING Incidents At Two Boca Raton Area Schools On AP Exam Day

SWATTING INCIDENT
SWATTING INCIDENT
Two apparent SWATTING incidents are causing problems at area schools Thursday morning.

UPDATE: The Palm Beach County School District now says there was NO Swatting incident at OMNI Middle. Multiple people, however, report a police presence at the school. We are awaiting clarification from authorities but can report that both Omni and Spanish River High are safe as of 11:38 a.m. The School District says there was no “increased” police presence at Omni, so whatever people saw was unrelated to anything of note.

UPDATE: The Palm Beach County School District tells BocaNewsNow.com that all is “clear” at Spanish River High. We are awaiting an update from Omni Middle.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two more apparent swatting calls at area schools are causing big problems on AP Exam day.

One call at Spanish River High School is leading many students to leave school which is a big deal on day when Advanced Placement exams are being conducted. A caller apparently told police that he is in the area of the school and armed. The information seems to mimic a call received by authorities last week regarding Boca Raton Middle School. It was unfounded.

A second call is apparently involving Omni Middle School. The specifics of that call are unclear but generally appear to be very similar to the other calls.

We note that SWATTING calls are a huge problem for South Florida schools but that police are VERY good at tracking down the people making the calls and arresting them. Several people in Broward County are facing charges from SWATTING calls that they allegedly made over the past year.

There are NO official evacuations and police are dealing with the situation at each school. Check back for updates.
