Mehmet Oncu Uner, 46, was arrested by Boca Raton Police at Cosmos, located at 99 SE 1st Avenue, after officers responded to a reported assault around 1:46 a.m.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Uner was being asked to leave the venue when he allegedly told a security officer that he was going to kill him. As Uner made the threat, police say he moved toward the security officer, who stated he was in fear for his life. The security officer also told police officers that Uner threatened to physically harm him and struck him on the arm, though no visible injuries were found. Multiple witnesses corroborated the account, telling police that Uner was yelling, getting in the security guard’s face, and had to be physically restrained by bystanders.

During a search before his arrest, officers allegedly found a small baggie containing a white powdery substance in Uner’s back right pants pocket. Uner reportedly told police he believed it was cocaine and that a friend had given it to him. The substance, which weighed 0.3 grams, tested positive for cocaine using a field test kit at the Boca Raton Police Department booking facility. Uner was charged with assault on a security officer.

Uner, who lists a Fort Lauderdale address and is self-employed, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on May 10, 2026. A court date is pending.
