Allison Inberg Faces Multiple Charges After Incident Near St. Andrews Blvd.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman’s evening of erratic driving ended in handcuffs — and later, felony charges — after police say she plowed into a stop sign, fled the scene, and then punched a police officer while being processed at the Boca Raton Police Department. Allison Elsa Inberg, 47, of Boca Raton, was taken into custody on the evening of May 23, 2026, following bizarre behavior starting at the intersection of Potomac Road and St. Andrews Boulevard.
According to a Boca Raton Police Department probable cause affidavit reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, witnesses saw Inberg aggressively flashing her lights and waving at other drivers near the intersection before speeding around traffic, making a fast right turn onto NW 34th Street, and slamming into a stop sign — sending it flying approximately 15 feet into nearby bushes. She then struck a street pillar before driving away. Witnesses said she briefly exited her vehicle, appeared to notice the damage, then got back in and drove to her nearby residence. Officers located Inberg at her home, where she had reportedly stepped outside willingly. Police wrote that she was visibly heavily intoxicated, had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, and was heavily slurring her speech. Damage to the city-owned stop sign was estimated at $1,000. Inberg was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
The situation went from bad to worse at police headquarters later that night. At approximately 10:30 p.m., while officers were removing Inberg from her cell in BRPD booking to prepare her for transport to the hospital for medical clearance, police say she refused repeated commands to place her hands behind her back, turned to face officers, and began to brace and tense her body. When an officer moved in to gain control, Inberg allegedly balled up her right fist and struck the officer in the center of the chest. Officers then restrained her, applied handcuffs, and — after she began banging her forehead against a wall — used a WRAP restraint device and helmet to secure her. She was subsequently transported to Boca Regional Hospital for medical clearance.

In addition to the traffic violations, Inberg faces two additional felony charges: battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence. She was later turned over to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail. In a post-Miranda statement made while in BRPD booking regarding the original crash, Inberg reportedly acknowledged that leaving the scene was “a dumb thing to do.” Her court date on the leaving-the-scene charge is set for June 23, 2026.
