POMPANO BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Women in Broward County who need a mammogram but can’t afford one have an opportunity coming up next weekend. The Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Program is bringing its mobile mammogram unit to the Northwest Branch Library in Pompano Beach on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
The free screenings are available to women between the ages of 40 and 64 who meet certain income and insurance criteria. Specifically, applicants must have a household income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level and must not have health insurance that covers the cost of clinical breast exams, mammograms, or Pap tests. The program is designed to reach women who might otherwise go without potentially life-saving preventive care.
The event will be held at the Northwest Branch Library, located at 1580 NW 3rd Ave. in Pompano Beach. The mobile unit offers 3D mammography screening. No appointment is necessary — residents can simply walk in during the event hours.
Women who want to find out whether they qualify before the event can call the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Program at 954-762-3649. Additional information is also available online at FloridaHealth.gov/FBCC.
