Transaction Fees. Credit Card Fees. E-Check Fees. Pay By Phone Fees. Fees. Fees.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you live in the City of Delray Beach, prepare to pay fees — and sometimes multiple fees — for the privilege of paying your water bill. The City is moving to a new system called Tyler Enterprise ERP this July. City officials say the new online portal is designed to make paying your water bill faster with features like e-check payments and the option to securely store your credit card for future use. But the new system is very heavily fee-based.
Online payments will go dark from July 20 through July 28, 2026, while the city makes the switch. Customers who normally get their bills toward the end of the month should expect some delay. The city is giving people a break on the back end, though — late fees will be waived from July 20 through August 7, 2026, so nobody should get hit with a penalty because of the system change.
If you need to pay during the blackout window, the city says checks can still be mailed to its processing center at P.O. Box 288242, Tampa, FL 33630-8242, or dropped in the box outside City Hall at 100 NW 1st Avenue in Delray Beach. Just don’t expect it to post right away — none of those payments will actually show up on accounts until July 28.
Once the new portal is up and running, customers will notice some new fees attached to convenience. Starting July 28, phone payments will carry a 50-cent transaction fee, e-checks will cost $1.95 plus the 50-cent fee, and credit card payments will run 3.25% of the bill (with a $2.50 minimum) plus that same 50-cent transaction fee. Anyone with questions about their bill, payment options, or their account can email Utility Customer Service at utilitiescustomerservice@mydelraybeach.com or call the Utility Billing Division at (561) 243-7100, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
So I have to pay to pay?
When did our entire city become a Private Public Partnership, every department ripe for rip-off. Who are these “vendors?” Had did they get these contracts? How much are the making? Who’s pocketing the fees while jobs are lost downtown? All to save money? I don’t think so.
unclear reporting-so the only type of payment with no associated fee would be to mail them a check?
