Captain Hunter Coddington Now On The Scene…
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — One of the heroes who routinely helps save lives and property in Boca Raton is now in Venezuela, working with a FEMA Search and Rescue crew in the wake of devastating earthquakes. Boca Raton Fire Rescue professional Capt. Hunter Coddington was deployed on Saturday.
Our friends at Boca Raton Fire Rescue tell us that Capt. Coddington is an eight year firefighter with the City of Boca Raton and was recently promoted to the rank of captain where he serves in the training division.
He impressively is part of FEMA USAR Task Force 2 which was deployed on Saturday to Venezuela to help with relief efforts. He received his Urban Search and Rescue training while working for the City of Boca Raton.
It’s unclear how long Capt. Coddington will be in Venezuela, where the death count Monday afternoon rose to more than 1700 people.
My mantra is ILB – I love BOCA – as a ret United States Secret Service supervisory special agent suffering from medical issues from the attack on the WTC in 1993 and from exposure from 911 I fully appreciate the great public safety folks from PD to fire rescue to the ER and staff at Boca Regional!!! Kudos to this hero rocking hi life in what is a disaster but also a war zone !
