PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Library System is expanding its partnership with the Palm Beach County Food Bank’s Mobile Pantry, bringing free groceries and nutrition education to the Royal Palm Beach Branch Library, 500 Civic Center Way, starting Friday, July 24.
The Mobile Pantry will set up shop on the fourth Friday of every month at the Royal Palm branch. Registration happens on site, and there’s no cost involved. Visitors can expect free fresh produce, meat and shelf-stable items — but organizers say to get there early, because food goes out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Each event kicks off with a free interactive nutrition class from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by the food distribution from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The initiative falls under the Food and Nutrition Program, a joint effort between the Palm Beach County Library System, the Palm Beach County Food Bank, the Florida Department of Health in Palm Beach County and Florida Blue. Library Director Douglas Crane said the goal is bigger than just handing out groceries.
“We are bringing vital wellness resources directly to our residents,” Crane said. “By pairing healthy food distribution with free education, we are enriching the lives of families to build stronger, healthier futures.”
Residents who can’t make it to Royal Palm Beach have another option. The Lantana Road Branch Library hosts its own Mobile Pantry on the second Thursday of each month, with the same class and distribution schedule.
