BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton resident is getting national recognition for her decades of work in the mortgage industry. Dr. Lois Johnson-Brown, CEO and founder of United Security Financial, has been named to the U.S. Black Chambers’ 2026 Power 50 “Women of Influence” class, the organization announced this week.

The U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) describes the Power 50 recognition as a national honor for women who are shaping industries, advancing communities, and driving economic impact. This year’s honorees were chosen from a wide range of fields, including business, media, public service, and entrepreneurship. The theme for the 2026 class is “Women Who Lead the Movement.”

Johnson-Brown, who founded United Security Financial more than three decades ago, has built her career on expanding access to responsible mortgage lending. The company, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, holds seller-servicer designations from both Ginnie Mae and Fannie Mae. Johnson-Brown has said her focus has always been on helping families build generational wealth through homeownership.

In a statement released with the announcement, Johnson-Brown said the honor reflects more than her own career path. She said it represents the perseverance of everyone who believed homeownership and economic opportunity should be within reach for all families, and that she plans to keep using her platform to open doors for others in the industry.

“I am profoundly honored to stand among this remarkable group of women whose leadership is transforming industries, strengthening communities, and opening doors for generations to come, ” said Dr. Johnson-Brown. “This recognition represents far more than my individual journey — it reflects the faith, perseverance, and collective strength of every person who believed that homeownership, economic opportunity, and lasting security should be within reach for all families. I accept this honor with gratitude and a renewed commitment to lead boldly, serve purposefully, and leave a legacy that empowers others to build, prosper, and dream without limits.”

Beyond running the company, Johnson-Brown has spent years training, hiring, and mentoring mortgage professionals, helping them build their own careers in lending. USBC says that mentorship, combined with her leadership on financial education and inclusion in the lending marketplace, is part of what set her apart for this year’s list.

Ron Busby Sr., President and CEO of U.S. Black Chambers, Inc., praised the full 2026 class in a statement, calling the honorees visionary leaders and barrier breakers who continue to redefine what’s possible. USBC says the Power 50 initiative spans multiple industries, including finance, media, technology, and philanthropy.

The 2026 Power 50 Women of Influence were celebrated at a luncheon held at the Ritz Carlton in Washington, D.C. More information on the program is available at usbcwomenofpower.com.
