PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash with a pickup truck early Saturday on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com.

The crash happened just before 5 a.m. in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard. Investigators say a 2023 Suzuki GSXR-1000 motorcycle, driven by 33-year-old Eury Abreu Herrera of West Palm Beach, was headed west in the second lane from the median. At the same time, a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, driven by 31-year-old Diosdel Alonso, also of West Palm Beach, was exiting a parking lot at 8199 Southern Boulevard.

According to PBSO, Alonso failed to see the oncoming motorcycle and made a wide right turn that cut across all lanes of travel. As the pickup moved toward the inside lane nearest the median, the motorcycle struck its left rear. The impact sent the motorcycle spinning southwest into the median curb, ejecting Herrera into the eastbound lanes of Southern Boulevard. The pickup came to a controlled stop in the lane nearest the median.

Herrera was not wearing safety equipment and died from his injuries at the scene, deputies said. Alonso, who was wearing his seatbelt, was not injured. Investigators have not said whether alcohol or drugs played a role for either driver, and no charges have been filed as of Sunday.
