DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 60-year-old woman camping out on a Delray Beach sidewalk gave police three different names before officers finally figured out who she was. Then they found a crack pipe tucked in her bra.
Delray Beach Police say an officer on routine patrol spotted a woman sitting in a chair on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of West Atlantic Avenue, hiding behind shrubbery and trees. Two men were nearby with chairs, bedding and umbrellas, apparently setting up a camp on city property. When the officer approached, the woman identified herself as Jackeline Rodriguez. That name came back with nothing. She tried again, giving a different last name, then a third name. None of it matched. A responding sergeant eventually identified her through her Florida driver’s license as Marcia Jackeline Rojas, also known as Jackie Rojas, and dispatch confirmed she had an active warrant.
Officers handcuffed Rojas and searched a bag she’d been keeping between her legs. Inside, they say they found a white rock-like substance, a ball of copper wire and a thin metal rod — items police identified as crack cocaine and paraphernalia used to smoke it. A field test on the substance came back positive for cocaine. Asked if she had anything else on her, Rojas allegedly said yes and told officers she had a “crack pipe in her bra.” A search turned up a glass tube with burnt ends.
Rojas was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving a false name to law enforcement. Booking records also list four counts of organized scheme to defraud under $20,000. She was booked on August 25th and remains held on the outstanding warrant and several counts of check fraud from a separate case.
