BY: ANDREW COLTON | Editor and Publisher | BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We are taking the unusual step of reporting that something didn’t happen today. And we are doing this because rumors apparently being shared on social media — and through texts — are promoting falsehoods that are, well, false.
Here’s what did happen: there was a minor crash in front of Temple B’Nai Israel — in the area of 2200 Yamato Road — around 9:10 this morning. While it’s never good when someone is injured, this was a minor incident with what we understand to be non-life threatening injuries. Police and paramedics did what they do multiple times a day and the road was back open in an hour.
Here’s what did NOT happen: there was not an out of control motorist who sped at a high rate of speed into B’Nai Israel. There was NOT an attempt to illegally gain access to the facility. There was NOT a blatant act of antisemitism. And there was NOT an effort to thwart upcoming Yom Kippur services by causing mass destruction. There was a car accident. They happen seemingly every few minutes all over Palm Beach County.
But BocaNewsNow.com has learned that upon hearing there was an incident near a synagogue, what we’ll call an active group of online social media users decided that it was more than just a car crash and spread a series of falsehoods. We don’t know why. We do know the information shared with us by several people was completely inaccurate. It’s unclear who is behind the misinformation, why it was spread, or how a car crash became an antisemitic incident.
Sometimes a car crash near a synagogue is just a car crash near a synagogue. It’s not nefarious. It’s not potential terrorism. It’s just drivers in Boca Raton paying absolutely no attention to other drivers in Boca Raton.

Thanks so much for this article. I know I emailed you last week about the other ‘accident near a temple’. This article was definitely the right thing to do. I think these days everyone is on edge because it appears that the country is falling apart.
That was a wonderful article. I hope that we can have many many more of these all over the world. God bless whoever wrote it. I think his name is Colton. God bless everyone thank you Linda
Very intelligent way of presenting what might have been construed by many as a very fearful incident in the community
