Poster Creator Could Face Legal Action From Subject Of “Alert.” NOT A SEXUAL PREDATOR.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The dangerous intersection of vigilantism and AI is on full display in Boca Raton as someone apparently created an official-looking warning poster that is full of misinformation. The concern: someone will see this and take criminal action.
The poster — which is on display on social media sites including NextDoor — was apparently generated by someone in Boca Raton who declared an unhoused man to be a “sexual predator.” That’s a legal term in the State of Florida. The man displayed in the poster, however, is not a declared sexual predator or sexual offender according to State of Florida records. He could now have significant legal recourse against the person who crafted the warning.
We are not identifying the subject of the poster for these reasons: two cases against him were sealed and there is no record of any conviction. One charge against him for violating a Boca Raton ordinance that prohibits sleeping on a park bench was dismissed. In simple terms: there are no felony or misdemeanor convictions on record in Palm Beach County or Broward County for the subject of the “warning.”
The Boca Raton Police Department confirms that it has nothing to do with this poster. There has been absolutely no request by law enforcement in South Palm Beach County — or Florida — to report the whereabouts of this man.
