Palm Beach County Traffic Alert

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two hundred and three. That’s how many road projects are standing between you and wherever you’re trying to go this week in Palm Beach County: 27 from the Florida Department of Transportation and another 176 on the county’s own Road and Bridge Construction List.

Among the highlights: Woodfield Country Club doing what likely many of its residents have done — get a facelift. It’s causing big problems on Clint Moore Road. Other problems include a full overnight closure of westbound Okeechobee Boulevard, a full overnight closure of the northbound Turnpike, and Boynton Beach Boulevard’s interchange doing what it has done since August 2025. Pack snacks.

Major FDOT Highway Projects

Interstate 95

The $64 million rebuild of the I-95 interchange at Boynton Beach Boulevard rolls on toward an early 2029 finish. Elsewhere on the interstate: lighting work in Lake Worth Beach, express lane closures in Boca Raton, and asphalt coring that can take out three lanes at a time between West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens.

  • I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard: One lane may close in each direction starting at 8 p.m., with up to three lanes closed in each direction from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday. A fourth lane may close overnight as needed. The northbound and southbound outside deceleration lanes approaching the Boynton Beach Boulevard exits remain closed through late 2026.
  • Boynton Beach Boulevard ramp closures: Any one of the four I-95 ramps at Boynton Beach Boulevard may close from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday. Only one ramp is allowed to close at a time. Northbound exit detour: Woolbright Road east to U.S. 1, then north. Southbound exit detour: Gateway Boulevard east to U.S. 1, then south.
  • Boynton Beach Boulevard itself: Eastbound is down to two through lanes from NW 8th Street to east of W. Industrial Avenue through late 2026, and the northbound outside turn lane of NW 8th Street is closed. One lane in each direction may close from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Old Boynton Road and NW 3rd Avenue. The westbound turn lane to southbound I-95 may close 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night through Friday; use W. Industrial Avenue to U-turn. The driveway and front parking area at 650 Boynton Beach Boulevard may be closed around the clock as needed.
  • I-95 lighting, Lake Worth Beach: Northbound I-95 off-ramps from 12th Avenue South to 10th Avenue North may have one lane closed intermittently, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday, Oct. 5 through Thursday, Oct. 8. On North Dixie Highway, one lane closes intermittently between 10th Avenue North and the West Palm Beach Canal, 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., same nights.
  • Express lanes, Boca Raton: Northbound express lanes from SW 10th Street to the express lane exit, and southbound express lanes from the express lane entrance to Hillsboro Boulevard, close 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 5 and Tuesday, Oct. 6, for delineator pole replacement.
  • Asphalt coring, West Palm Beach to Palm Beach Gardens: Up to three lanes in each direction may close intermittently between north of Investment Lane and south of PGA Boulevard, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday night, Oct. 4 through Thursday night, Oct. 8.
  • Advance notice — HOV lanes: The HOV lane in both directions between Clint Moore Road in Boca Raton and Indiantown Road in Jupiter closes 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday, Oct. 12 through Thursday, Oct. 15, for overhead sign replacement.

Southern Palm Beach County

Boca Raton’s U.S. 1 is getting a diet. The $6.3 million project between Camino Real and NE 8th Street/Mizner Boulevard trades an outside travel lane for separated bike lanes and wider sidewalks, and northbound drivers are already living with the consequences.

  • U.S. 1, Boca Raton: Northbound is reduced to one lane between Camino Real and SE 5th Street/SE Mizner Boulevard through Oct. 16. One northbound and one southbound lane at Camino Real close intermittently, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Oct. 5 through Friday, Oct. 9, for signal work.
  • Glades Road, Boca Raton: One lane closes in each direction between U.S. 441 and Boca Rio Road, 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 7 and Thursday, Oct. 8, for pavement markings. Westbound Glades also loses a lane by the FAU entrance and at NW Executive Court, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, for sidewalk repair.
  • Atlantic Avenue, west of Delray Beach: The $26 million widening from west of U.S. 441 to east of Florida’s Turnpike continues. FDOT reports all lanes open this week. Enjoy it.

West Palm Beach gets overnight lane closures on Okeechobee Boulevard all week, daytime closures on U.S. 1, and the Town of Palm Beach’s South County Road project keeps detouring drivers around Peruvian Avenue.
