POMPANO BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Hundreds of glowing drones will light up the sky over Pompano Beach on Saturday, Nov. 7, as the city marks five years of the show it says helped start a South Florida trend. Pompano Beach launched one of the region’s first municipal drone shows in 2022. This year’s edition lands on Veterans Day weekend and doubles as a tribute to the nation’s heroes.
The main event starts at 7 p.m. just south of the Fisher Family Pier, where designers from Firefly Drone Shows will send their fleet up for an all-new, 15-minute display of patriotic tributes and ocean-inspired designs set to music. A DJ and a party band from Junior’s Entertainment Group will keep the beach going with Top 40 and retro hits from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Don’t plan on watching from the pier. It will close ahead of the show, and the city is directing crowds to the beach south of it. On a clear night, the drones are visible from up to five miles away.
An expanded free shuttle service starts at 1 p.m. from Pompano Community Park, 1660 NE 10th St. The shuttles are ADA accessible and have room for coolers and lawn chairs. The event is free and open to the public, and parking, closure and shuttle details are posted at parks.pompanobeachfl.gov/events/drone-show-extravaganza.
