
UPDATE (Wednesday, October 7, 2026) — We’ve learned that this was a multi-car incident. A driver apparently stopped for a motor scooter, but the vehicle behind the stopped vehicle drove around that car and hit the scooter. It is being called an “accident” and no criminal charges are expected.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An incident involving a grown-up on a scooter in Boca Raton is causing major traffic problems Tuesday morning. The crash — around 7:45 a.m. — is still causing delays as of after 9 a.m. near Jog and Potomac.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that a man in his 40s was riding his motorized scooter when he apparently hit a car. He fell from the scooter. His injuries, while likely painful, are not believed to be life-threatening. He was rushed to Delray Medical Center. It’s unclear if the person or people in the vehicle sustained any injuries.
The intersection was closed for a while. One lane was quickly reopened, then the rest of the intersection was reopened at 9:11 a.m.
Motorists in the area reaching out to BocaNewsNow.com say the traffic situation is still “bad.”
