BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 23-year-old Boca Raton man is facing a DUI charge after deputies say he was clocked at 73 mph in a 40 mph zone on South Military Trail, then blew well over the legal limit. Andrew Hunter Pinsky was arrested at 11:16 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com.

It started around 10:54 p.m. near Military Trail and Pacific Boulevard in unincorporated Boca Raton. A deputy running traffic enforcement says a black Cadillac heading south looked like it was doing about 70. Radar put it at 73. The driver then made an abrupt left at SW 12th Street toward the entrance of the Parkside subdivision, where the gate was down. According to the report, the Cadillac squeezed between a parked Nissan and the shoulder of the roundabout, nearly hitting it, before the deputy pulled it over. Pinsky, the only person in the car, told the deputy he was scared.

Deputies say they smelled alcohol, and that Pinsky had glassy, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and trouble holding his head straight. He allegedly refused to do any roadside sobriety exercises. He did agree to a breath test, which came back at 0.120 and 0.116 shortly after midnight. Florida’s legal limit is 0.08. He declined to answer investigators’ questions.

Pinsky was charged with misdemeanor DUI with a breath alcohol level of 0.08 or higher and cited for speeding and failing to display the vehicle’s registration. Bond was set at $1,000. He’s due in court Nov. 5 at the South County Courthouse in Delray Beach.
