BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 47-year-old Boca Raton woman faces felony charges after police say she cornered her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend in the women’s restroom at Cosmo’s Nightclub, tore a $2,600 necklace off her neck and bit her finger. According to a police report just processed and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Waldete Araujo Goncalvez was arrested just after 1 a.m. on Oct. 3 at the club, 99 SE 1st Ave. She is charged with robbery by sudden snatching, felony criminal mischief and simple battery.

The victim, according to case documents, was heading to the bathroom when a woman walked up and asked why she had blocked her on Instagram. The victim told police she didn’t recognize her at first, then realized it was her ex-boyfriend’s girlfriend. She said Goncalvez grabbed her by the arm, dragged her into the restroom, asked whether her boyfriend had bought the necklace she was wearing, then yanked it off, scratching her in the process. When the victim grabbed Goncalvez to get it back, police say Goncalvez bit her finger. Officers noted redness on the victim’s neck and left forearm and a small cut on a finger of her right hand.

Goncalvez, interviewed through a Portuguese-speaking officer, told a different story. She said the victim came into the restroom to antagonize her and then attacked and scratched her. She admitted grabbing the necklace, which she said had come from her boyfriend, and told police she handed it to another woman after people pulled them apart. She then asked for an attorney.

A manager at the club told police she saw Goncalvez pull the necklace from the woman’s neck. When she asked for it, the manager said, Goncalvez deliberately pulled it apart with her hands. The manager returned the broken pieces to the victim but declined to give police her name. Handwritten notes on the arrest form indicate no bond on the robbery charge, $1,000 on the battery count and $5,000 on criminal mischief.
