BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — JetBlue’s new first class starts in Fort Lauderdale.
The airline put BlueFirst, its new domestic first-class cabin, on sale Thursday across more than 30 routes. Limited-time introductory fares start at $249 one-way. The first revenue flight leaves Boston Logan International Airport on December 8, bound for Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
That choice isn’t an accident. Fort Lauderdale was JetBlue’s first-ever destination, and now it becomes the first official destination for BlueFirst. Boston and Fort Lauderdale are two of the airline’s largest focus cities. Within days of the launch, BlueFirst expands to select flights between Fort Lauderdale and New York’s LaGuardia Airport, with more routes to follow in the weeks and months ahead.
Of the 39 routes JetBlue lists in its initial BlueFirst schedule, 19 touch Fort Lauderdale. Palm Beach County travelers get a piece too: BlueFirst service is planned between West Palm Beach and LaGuardia starting in January, Westchester County, New York, in March, and Boston in April.
“We designed BlueFirst to deliver a more accessible first-class experience that combines the thoughtful hospitality and service customers expect from JetBlue with exceptional value and comfort. We’re excited that customers can now start making BlueFirst part of their travel plans,” said Joanna Geraghty, JetBlue’s chief executive officer. “This is just the beginning. As we bring BlueFirst to more aircraft, customers will see it become available on routes and in markets across our network, giving them even more opportunities to choose an elevated JetBlue experience.”
BlueFirst is being added to JetBlue’s non-Mint fleet. Mint, the airline’s business class, stays on longer flights. BlueFirst is expected on flights across the network where Mint isn’t offered, including in Latin America and the Caribbean. JetBlue says it picked the first routes based on customer demand for premium travel, including popular leisure destinations, as part of a phased rollout.
Introductory Fares
Three routes carry the promotional pricing. Seats are limited, and the deadline is tight: you have to book by Friday, October 16, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
| Route | Introductory Fare (one-way) | Travel Window |
|---|---|---|
| Boston (BOS) to/from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) | $299 | Dec. 8, 2026 – Feb. 10, 2027 |
| New York (LGA) to/from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) | $249 | Dec. 12, 2026 – Feb. 10, 2027 |
| New York (JFK) to Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR) | $299 | Jan. 5, 2027 – Feb. 10, 2027 |
Blackout dates on both Fort Lauderdale routes are December 17, 2026, through January 4, 2027, and January 14 through January 18, 2027. The JFK-Liberia fare is blacked out January 14 through January 18, 2027, and is valid only for travel from JFK to Liberia, not the return.
All three fares are one-way, subject to availability, and include government taxes and fees. Additional baggage fees, optional service charges and fare rules, including change and cancellation policies, may apply.
What You Get
JetBlue first unveiled BlueFirst in September. The cabin is laid out two-by-two. Here’s what’s in it:
- Seats: Tuft & Needle T&N Flex™ foam, five inches of recline, and up to seven inches more legroom than JetBlue’s Main seats.
- Entertainment: A 13.3-inch seatback screen with Bluetooth connectivity and the airline’s Blueprint by JetBlue™ entertainment system.
- Food: On flights of 899 miles or longer, a meal called FirstFare with an entrée, side and dessert. Premium snacks are served on every BlueFirst flight.
- Drinks: Sommelier-selected wines from Parcelle, specialty coffee from Cometeer and Joe Coffee, and Smith Teamaker teas.
- Seatback ordering: Pick meals, browse onboard offerings, and use “Mixologist Mode” to build a cocktail from available ingredients.
- Priority perks: Group 1 boarding, dedicated overhead bin space, priority check-in and baggage benefits, and expedited security at more than 30 participating airports.
Three Fare Types
Every BlueFirst fare includes one carry-on bag, one personal item, Group 1 boarding, and priority check-in and security access at select airports. From there, it splits three ways.
BlueFirst includes two checked bags, free advance seat selection, and no change or cancellation fees.
BlueFirst Flex adds refunds to the original form of payment if you cancel before scheduled departure, plus no fees for same-day switches or same-day standby.
BlueFirst Base is the cheaper option. It comes with one checked bag, priority check-in and security, and Group 1 boarding. Seat selection is free only within 24 hours of departure, and changes and cancellations cost a fee. TrueBlue Mosaic 4 members and eligible JetBlue Premier Card cardmembers keep complimentary BlueHouse lounge access when booking Base.
All fares are subject to fare rules and JetBlue’s Contract of Carriage. Details are at jetblue.com/flying-with-us/our-fares.
Upgrades for Mosaic Members
JetBlue is turning its Move to Mint certificates into Premium Upgrade Certificates. They can be redeemed for both Mint and BlueFirst where available, at variable redemption rates.
Mosaic 3 and Mosaic 4 members get the certificates as a tier benefit. Mosaic 4 members earn two more for every 100 Tiles earned beyond the tier threshold.
At launch, Mosaic members booked on eligible fares can get complimentary space-available upgrades to BlueFirst before departure, depending on seat availability. Main Base and Even More Base fares aren’t eligible. JetBlue says it will explain how space-available upgrades work in the coming weeks, ahead of launch.
The airline describes the changes as part of an effort to make TrueBlue, its loyalty program, more rewarding.

BlueFirst joins the rest of JetBlue’s premium lineup under its JetForward strategy: EvenMore, Mint, and BlueHouse lounges at JFK and Boston Logan. JetBlue calls itself New York’s Hometown Airline and is a leading carrier in Boston, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Juan, flying to more than 100 destinations across the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada and Europe.
