BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County man says he handed his Tesla to the valet at The Boca Raton for a luncheon and got it back two hours later with a cracked windshield. Now he’s taking the luxury resort and its valet company to court. “The Boca Raton” is the still comical name for the former Boca Resort.
Arthur Spector filed a small claims lawsuit Thursday in Palm Beach County Court against The Boca Raton, LLC, which operates the hotel at 501 East Camino Real, and LAZ Parking Ltd, LLC, which runs valet service there. Spector, who is representing himself, says he dropped off his 2023 Tesla Model Y on February 17, 2026. He claims the windshield had no cracks or damage at the time.
When he came back for the car about two hours later, Spector says he found a large, visible crack on the driver’s side of the windshield. He says he reported it to staff on the spot. According to the complaint, the defendants have refused to pay for the repair, despite demands Spector says he made the next day and repeatedly afterward by text, email and phone.
The suit argues that handing over the car created a legal bailment, meaning the valet was responsible for returning it in the same condition. Because the Tesla went in undamaged and came back cracked, Spector claims negligence is presumed. He is seeking $1,544.25, the cost to repair the windshield, plus court costs. The case number is 2026 SC 022713.
