BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Four coastal alerts are now stacked on top of each other for coastal Palm Beach County, and the National Weather Service says breaking waves could reach 10 feet in the surf zone.
A High Surf Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday, with large breakers of 5 to 10 feet. A Coastal Flood Advisory for moderate flooding remains in effect until 2 a.m. Sunday. The High Rip Current Risk runs through Monday evening. And a Coastal Flood Watch begins late tonight and continues through Monday evening, warning that significant coastal flooding is possible.
Numerous roads may close. Low-lying homes, businesses and some critical infrastructure could be inundated, and shoreline and localized beach erosion are possible.
Drivers should allow extra time and never go around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Owners of flood-prone property should take steps to protect it. At the beach, inexperienced swimmers are urged to stay out of the water entirely, and everyone else should swim near a lifeguard. Rip currents can pull even strong swimmers away from shore.
If you’re caught in one, relax and float instead of fighting it, swim parallel to the shoreline if you can, and if you can’t escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
