HURRICANE IRMA: Florida Public Utilities Sends Outrageous Pre-Storm Email To Customers

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Florida Public Utilities, the main provider of natural gas in South Florida, doesn’t want to hear from you if you face service issues during the storm. “Should the storm produce 40mph sustained winds, our crews will not be able to respond to service calls during the storm. Therefore, we encourage you to refrain from calling to report interruptions of service.”
Florida Public Utilities states that it will not intentionally disable service, and encourages customers to NOT turn off gas service at the meter.
Florida Public Utilities is a division of Chesapeake Energy. We have previously reported on issues with its dispatch center which can be reached at 800-427-7712.
