School District Unprepared For Surprise Announcement. Will Discuss Online Learning Wednesday.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — The Palm Beach County School District Tuesday night was seemingly caught off guard by Governor Ron DeSantis’ order that schools remain closed until at least April 15th. Gov. DeSantis made the comments early Tuesday evening. The School District was apparently unprepared for the announcement.
But at 8pm, the Palm Beach County School District confirmed the news with a robocall and email alert:
Good evening Parents and staff – This is the School District of Palm Beach County calling with an update on the Coronavirus situation.
This evening, Governor Ron DeSantis extended school closures, throughout Florida, to April 15th.
Your superintendent, Dr. Donald Fennoy, will update parents and staff during a live news conference tomorrow morning. He will discuss the District’s plans for remote digital learning, food service distribution, employee impact, school sanitization efforts and more.
