BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — It’s bad all the way around. Florida recorded 2,776 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. The percent positive rate hit 9.82, one of the highest State of Florida rates recorded since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

There are now 80,109 confirmed official cases of COVID-19 in Florida. The official death count is 2,993.

In Palm Beach County, 262 new cases were added on Monday and the percent positive hit 9.7 percent. More than 1500 cases have been logged in Palm Beach County over just the past week.

The Rebekah Jones report is even worse.

Jones, Florida’s lead data scientist, was fired when Gov. Ron DeSantis stated she refused to follow orders. Jones says she was ordered to suppress data. She is using publicly available data to create her own realtime report now being cited nationwide. The direct link is below.

Jones reports 88,261 confirmed cases since March 1, 2020 with 3,085 deaths Jones reports that 22,965 people have received in the last six weeks — that’s a metric that the State of Florida does not make publicly available.

The ICU bed report — which the State of Florida also does not make public but Jones does — reveals the following:

AVAILBLE ICU BEDS:

Bethesda Hospital East: 18 Adult ICU beds, 2 pediatric ICU beds, 13 isolation beds.

Bethesda Hospital West: 4 Adult ICU beds, 0 pediatric ICU beds, 6 isolation beds.

Boca Raton Regional Hospital: 11 Adult ICU beds, 0 pediatric ICU beds, 8 isolation beds.

Delray Medical Center 23 adult ICU beds, 0 pediatric ICU beds, 0 isolation beds.

West Boca Raton Medical Center: 2 adult ICU beds, 4 pediatric ICU beds, 8 isolation beds.

We remind our readers: BocaNewsNow.com believes the goal should be not getting sick as opposed to needing an ICU bed. Arguing that ICU beds are available so it’s okay to contract COVID is much like arguing that you shouldn’t worry about the person with the gun since there’s space at the hospital.

In Palm Beach County, 21 percent of those infected have been admitted to an ER. Five percent have died.

As of mid-day Tuesday, 9,262 people are confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Palm Beach County. 438 have died.

In Boca Raton, at least 836 have tested positive, in Delray it’s 652, in Boynton Beach the infected count is 882.
