BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Will Florida see unprecedented level of illness and death in the weeks after Thanksgiving? The latest numbers from the Florida Department of Health suggests anyone taking part in a family Thanksgiving dinner involving non-household residents may have fewer people at the table next year. Florida just hit a two week record of 8.34 percent positivity based on Monday’s tests. That follows yesterday’s positivity of 8.03 percent and a weekend positivity of 8.27 percent.

Florida added 4,316 new COVID-19 cases on Monday through 11:59 p.m. with 27 new deaths.

In Palm Beach County, 329 new COVID-19 cases were added Monday through 11:59 p.m. with 2 new deaths. The positivity rate based on Monday’s numbers — hampered by Tropical Storm Eta testing site closures — is 7.95 percent.

The Florida COVID-19 infection count is now 852,174 cases with 17,248 deaths. In Palm Beach County, 56,145 COVID-19 caesura are on the books with 1,612 deaths.
