DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If your allergies are driving you crazy because you smell smoke and can’t figure out where it’s coming from, there’s an easy way to find out. The Florida Forest Service is providing access to a real-time map of burns across the state.

There is a currently a huge wildfire burning in western Palm Beach County. It’s controlled, but the fire is affecting air quality across much of the region.

The Florida Forest Service’s real-time map is available to the public. We are providing a link at the end of this report. It currently shows 79 active burns — both controlled and uncontrolled — across the state. At least 28,523 acres are actively on fire.

So far this year, there have been 1,096 wildfires on state land and 173 on federal land located in Florida, with a total of 52,879 acres burned.
