BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Several condominium high rises along the beach in Boca Raton are in the age range of the Champlain Condo Tower that collapsed in Surfside.
There is no indication that these buildings are in danger, and we are not suggesting that they have failed inspections. The information is generated from public records on file with Palm Beach County.
If nothing else, however, the data shows that everything that appears sparkly and new in and around Boca Raton may not be sparkly and new. At least one Boca building dates back to when Lyndon B. Johnson was President of the United States.

It is entirely possible that some of these buildings have been completely renovated and structurally re-engineered. Public records are not immediately searchable for that specific data. However, as new reporting suggests a possible foundation issue led, at least in part, to the Champlain Tower disaster, anything less than a complete knockdown and rebuild of the aging Boca Raton buildings could suggest the potential for issues.
But we stress: there is no indication that any of the aging buildings listed above are in danger.
