BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District has an urgent need for school bus drivers. While it’s unclear if the shortage is so dire that it will affect picks up and drop offs when school starts in just three weeks, the school district is planning a massive “job fair” for next week.

The Palm Beach County School District’s transportation department is promoting “a great work schedule with a starting salary of $15.08 per hour.” It calls the benefits package “exceptional.”

Interested? Here are the requirements: “Safe licensed driver for five years, excellent driving record, the ability to pass a Department of Transportation Physical Examination, and the ability to communicate in English.”

The job fair is set for the School District Bus Facility at 3376 Summit Blvd. in West Palm Beach. It’s for Thursday, July 22nd, from 9:30 a.m. through 2 p.m.

The need is so great that the District says if you can’t attend the job fair, you can show up anytime, writing: “You are welcome at our training department anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday to get information and apply.”
