No Book Of Life Inscription For 1,931 During Week Leading Up To Rosh Hashanah

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The book of life closed on Rosh Hashanah for nearly 2000 Floridians who were alive in the days leading up to the Jewish New Year.
The United States Department of Health and Human Services reports that 258 people died from COVID in Florida hospitals on Tuesday. That brings the seven day total to 1,931. Florida is averaging 276 deaths a day, in hospitals and medical facilities, from COVID-19.
Florida hospitals admitted 1,565 adult patients for COVID care on Tuesday, along with 61 children under age 18. There are now 13,262 adult patients in a Florida hospital for COVID-19. The total pediatric count for COVID care is 190.
There are 3,049 patients in a Florida ICU for COVID-19 care. That represents 45 percent of the total number of ICU beds available for patient use. The Florida Hospital Association says 2,387 COVID patients are so sick, they are using a ventilator to breathe.
In Palm Beach County, 727 adults and 12 children under age 18 remain hospitalized for COVID-19. Of those admitted, 406 are unvaccinated, while 82 are fully vaccinate. The vaccination status of the remaining patients is unknown.
Of 523 ventilators in Palm Beach County medical facilities, 139 are being used for COVID-19 patients. 273 remain available.
There continues to be a deficit of official hospital space. 2,841 beds are in use out of an approved total of 2702 beds. That means hospitals are using makeshift space for 139 patients.
ICUs in Palm Beach County are also over capacity. 338 ICU beds are in use out of 326. That means 12 makeshift ICU beds are in use.
