Boca Raton Attorney Roderick Coleman Threatened BocaNewsNow.com, Tried To Smear Us With Local Media.
A Judge Just Disqualified Him From The Case We Covered That Led To His Threats.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton Attorney Roderick Coleman spent time this past summer threatening BocaNewsNow.com. He didn’t like our reporting on a libel and slander suit that was filed against his client, Ariana Loren.
Loren was sued by her former employer, Dr. Andrew Ress, who claims she posted fake online reviews of his practice after she was terminated. The case continues. A lawsuit is an allegation.
At issue, Attorney Coleman previously represented Dr. Ress in multiple matters, then allegedly used the information he obtained while representing Ress to sue him on behalf of his ex-employee. Palm Beach County Circuit Judge Howard Coates affirmed that you can’t do that in a six page order — demanding that Attorney Coleman no longer represent Loren. We are publishing the order below.
Over the past several months, Coleman repeatedly attacked BocaNewsNow.com for covering the story. He orchestrated calls to the Sun Sentinel, claiming that BocaNewsNow.com accepts payment to smear people. We don’t. Coleman claimed that BocaNewsNow.com Publisher Andrew Colton’s legal communication practice — which provides multimedia expertise to hundreds of attorneys nationwide representing critically and often horrifically injured children and adults — was somehow retained to smear Loren. It’s an offensive, slanderous claim.
Coleman also claimed that we never returned his calls (phone records prove otherwise), never responded to his threats, and the list goes on. The image, above, is part of a “lawyer letter” we received from Coleman, where he actually admits to calling the Sun Sentinel to smear us (we redacted the reporter’s name). This is not how respected lawyers practice law.
Now, when it comes to this case, Coleman won’t be practicing at all. Whether the Florida Bar takes action remains to be seen.
