Kinsa rated Palm Beach County as 99 — or extremely high risk — just weeks ago. The declining numbers indicate that the situation is improving dramatically in the area. Kinsa aggregates anonymous data transmitted by hundreds of thousands of “connected” thermometers to predict the spread of sickness. The company is credited with accurately predicting the initial spread of COVID-19. The company’s algorithm compares “actual” with “normal” to determine what’s coming. Health officials worldwide rely on the Kinsa data.
Meantime, the Palm Beach County Commission Wednesday agreed to terminate the order that required area hospitals to report COVID hospitalizations and capacity issues.
The order was executed earlier this year to ensure the public knew what to expect when heading to a hospital. While the COVID hospital situation appears to be better, there are still hospital capacity issues in the area.
