Thieves in Parkland are preying on open garages in several communities, including Heron Bay.

PARKLAND, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — It should go without saying although it apparently does not: if you keep anything of value in your garage, shut the door when you're not actively in the garage.

The Broward Sheriff's Office tells BocaNewsNow.com that there have been a series of burglaries of high-end bikes and golf clubs in Parkland, specifically from garages that have been left open.

This warning was sent to Parkland residents a short time ago:

Recently in the communities of Heron Bay, Parkland Golf and Country Club and Cypress Head there have been items stolen from open garages. These items include golf clubs and high end bicycles. The garages entered were unattended and open for extended periods of time. We urge all residents to secure their garage doors when you are not present and to report any suspicious persons and activity to BSO immediately.
