Kinsa’s latest HealthWeather report reveals that while Palm Beach County has been elevated back into a “yellow” or “moderate risk” zone, it’s on the lower end of the range. That is largely good news for the county that spent weeks at a level “99” — in the red zone — as the Delta variant took hold. There are still no reports of Omicron in Florida.
Kinsa’s HealthWeather report is used as a metric by public and private health officials worldwide. It relies on a series of “connected” thermometers that transmit anonymized data to the company’s cloud. The data is then used to predict the spread of disease by comparing what is normal, based on time of year, to what is not normal. Kinsa was credited for accurately predicting the initial and subsequent spreads of COVID-19.
Palm Beach County, according to Kinsa, spent several weeks in the “green” zone. The elevation back to yellow is new.
Meantime, the Walgreens Flu Index shows that Florida, overall, is not yet heavily impacted.
