FLORIDA COVID: More Hospitalized, Palm Beach County Positivity Rising

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The United States Department of Health and Human Services reports that the number of hospitalizations for COVID-19 treatment continues to rise.

On Sunday, hospitals in Florida admitted another 412 adult patients for confirmed and suspected COVID-19, with 22 new pediatric admissions. Florida hospitals now report 1,527 adults and children are now hospitalized for COVID-19.

ICU’s are again filling up as well, although nowhere yet near levels seen during the Delta wave. HHS reports 278 adults are currently in an ICU for COVID-19 treatment.

At least 17 deaths on Sunday were recorded as COVID-19 deaths. No deaths were attributed to the flu in Florida on Sunday, while 91 people are now hospitalized in the state for influenza.

The positivity rate in Palm Beach County continues to rise. The seven day rolling average in Palm Beach County is 8.4 percent.
