Jasmine Walker More Than Twice Legal Limit When Stopped On Swinton, According To Cops…

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving erratically on Swinton Avenue near “Dada,” then parking her car in the wrong direction before failing several field sobriety tests administered by Delray Beach Police.
Jasmine Walker, 40, of Chrysanthemum Drive in Boynton Beach, later provided breath alcohol samples recorded as .215 and .204, more than two times the legal limit of .08. The following is the official narrative of Walker’s arrest written by one of the investigating Delray Beach Police officers:
“On 8/8/2022 at approximately 2330 hours, officers responded to 52 N Swinton Ave (DaDa Restaurant) in reference to a Drunk Driver. On arrival, Officers made contact with the suspected impaired driver of a black Volkswagen Jetta on NW 1st Street just outside of the parking lot. When the suspect driver, Jasmine Walker, stepped out of the vehicle she was making erratic statements and was visibly impaired.
Walker was moving around and not obeying officers’ lawful commands and officers feared that she may flee the scene or possibly get back in her vehicle.”
“The three officers decided to detain Walker by handcuffing her. When this was attempted, Walker resisted and one of the officers pulled Walker to the ground from her front shoulders and she was then handcuffed. Delay Beach Fire Rescue responded to medically evaluate Walker and found there to be no medical condition worthy of transport.”
“A search of the vehicle produced an open wine bottle within immediate reach of the driver. Walker sustained no injuries during handcuffing and due to her intoxicated, uncooperative state was unable to be interviewed post-arrest as she was taken straight to the Palm Beach County BAI Center. Based on the above facts, probable cause does exist to arrest Jasmine Sky Walker for resisting an officer without violence pursuant to ESS 843.02.”
According to the Delray Beach Police DUI investigator: “Walker had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath, which became very strong every time she exhaled. Walker’s eyes were glassy and she continued to make obscure and random statements. Walker seemed to be experiencing mood swings throughout my interaction with her, evidenced by her high and low reactions to officers.”
In the Breath Alcohol Testing Facility, these notes were recorded: “Walker’s mood swings became more extreme, throwing herself to the floor, crying, laughing, and speaking pleasantly all in a matter of moments.”
Jasmine Walker is now charged with “DUI – Unlawful blood alcohol of .15 or higher,” “resist an officer without violence,” and “resist an officer, refuse to accept, sign a citation, or post bond.” She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on her own recognizance.
