Woman Was Walking Towards Back Of Car When 21-Year-Old Hits, Kills…

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Florida Highway Patrol tells BocaNewsNow.com that a 54-year-old Pompano Beach woman was struck and killed on I-95 Friday morning in the area of Atlantic Avenue. She was hit by a 21-year-old man from Delray Beach. No names have been released.
According to FHP, the Pompano Beach woman had some sort of car trouble and pulled over to the outside shoulder of the northbound lanes of I-95. For reasons that are unclear, the woman got out of her car and walked toward the rear of the vehicle. As she walked, she was apparently struck by the Delray Beach man. The man has not been charged. Investigators at this point have no idea why the woman was walking so close to the roadway.
The Delray Beach Man, wrote FHP, “was unable to stop in time. The front of (his vehicle) collided with the rear of the woman’s vehicle and with the woman. The woman was propelled onto the roadway and pronounced dead at the scene.”
The investigation into the incident continues. Northbound lanes on I-95 were slowed for several hours Friday morning as a result of the incident.
