BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton animal groomer is accused of viciously beating an animal in his care at “American Dog Pet Grooming” at 6909 SW 18th Street. A multi-month investigation led to the arrest of Pinio De Camaro, Jr.
According to a police report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, De Camargo allegedly beat dogs in his care while grooming them in a sink. Multiple incidents, according to the police report, were captured on camera. The owners of the grooming facility reached out to CrimeStoppers which passed on the information to Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control. An initial investigation led nowhere, but a second investigation yielded the videos that led to the arrest.
This is part of the narrative from the police report:
“(The investigator) emailed me the videos provided by the complainants. The first video shows a white male using an air compressor to blow dry a black puddle in the sink. The male appears to be forcefully manhandling the dog, grabbing the dog by the back of the head, pulling the dog’s hair, and pushing the dog down into the sink.
The second video shows the same male subject grooming a small tan dog on a table. The subject forcefully pushes the dog down onto the table while combing the dog’s hair. The subject raises his right arm and hand, and with a closed fist punches the dog. The subject then looks back before striking the dog a second time with his right hand.
The dog yelps and cries, and appears to be in pain from the man hitting it. The third video shows the same male subject using an air compressor to blow dry a small white dog in the sink. The subject is grabbing the dog by the back of the head and twisting the dog’s hair while lifting it up to blow-dry it. The fourth video shows the same male subject lifting a small dog off a table and bringing it over to the sink. The subject picks the dog up by the hair on the back of its head and the hair on the dog’s body to carry it over to the sink. The dog yelps when the subject picks it up by the hair.“
Plinio Roberto De Camargo, Jr., was arrested and is charged with cruelty to animals for allegedly “intentionally tormenting two dogs in his care by punching and striking the dogs multiple times.”
