UPDATE: 8 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022: Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the man sustaining the gunshot wound drove a food truck that had just been in Boca West prior to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call PBSO or CrimeStoppers (contact information is below).

UPDATE: 5 p.m. — PBSO just issued this official statement. BocaNewsNow.com reported much of the information earlier, but can now source it to police. “

PBSO responded to a vehicle stopped at a stop light in the westbound lanes of Glades Road east of the turnpike.  Upon arrival, deputies learned from a witness, a few vehicles behind, the driver/victim stepped out of his vehicle and collapsed in the roadway with his truck still in drive which rolled forward and came to rest in the median. The witness neither saw nor heard any altercations or gunshots prior to the victim collapsing in the roadway.  The victim appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound(s).  He was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.   No gunshot defects were found on the victim’s vehicle.  Anyone who may have information about what occurred on the roadway today between 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.”

UPDATE at 4:55 p.m. — Images provided to BocaNewsNow.com from close to the scene suggest that the vehicle involved was some sort of food service vehicle. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call PBSO. Contact information is below.

UPDATE at 3:36 p.m. — PBSO tells BocaNewsNow.com that this was not a true “crash.” The driver of the vehicle that ended up on the median on Glades Road near the Turnpike was shot and couldn’t drive further. Police do not know where he was shot or who shot him. There was no exterior bullet hole on the vehicle. It is possible that he was shot elsewhere and was driving himself to a hospital. The man is now in surgery. Anyone with information is asked to call PBSO at 561-688-3000, or CrimeStoppers at 800-458-TIPS. Online visit CrimeStoppersPBC.com.
