DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Way Beyond Bagels will almost assuredly close its Jog Road location, barring an extra schmear of cash suddenly appearing in the poplar deli’s bagel basket. Way Beyond’s owners allegedly owe more than $40,000 to SCC Addison Place, the company that owns and manages Way Beyond’s location at 16850 Jog Road.
BocaNewsNow.com first reported on Way Beyond’s problems earlier this week. We have just obtained the complaint, which asks a judge to order the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to seize the property. Way Beyond, owned by “Twice Upon A Bagel, Inc.,” owes $44,010 as of December 7th, 2022 — and that number continues to grow.
The deli’s problems apparently started in 2021 when it appears a post-COVID deal was struck with the landlord and past-due payments at the time were reset to roughly $5,700 a month. But even that didn’t help Mindy Hyman and Harvey Daniels, the Guarantors on the lease which dates back to at least 2000, according to the complaint.
The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ordered Way Beyond closed on December 12th for a full day after rodent droppings were found inside the restaurant. The restaurant was permitted to reopen on December 13th.
Read the complete complaint, below. If Attorneys for Way Beyond/Twice Upon A Bagel, Inc., have responded to the suit, the response had not been processed by the Palm Beach County Clerk of Court as of early December 29th, 2022.
