BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The November 27th shooting on I-95 that killed a woman and injured a man and a juvenile just led to an arrest. Jahkobi Williams, 21, of Pembroke Pines is now in custody. The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued this statement Friday afternoon:
“After an extensive and tireless investigation, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives made an arrest in the murder of a young woman that occurred on Interstate 95 in November. Jahkobi Williams, 21, was taken into custody Thursday night in connection to the murder.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 27, Broward County Regional Communications received a call regarding a shooting that occurred on Interstate 95 southbound between the Sunrise Boulevard exit and the Broward Boulevard exit. Florida Highway Patrol and the Fort Lauderdale Police Department responded to the scene. On scene, law enforcement located two victims, an adult male and an adult female, who were shot while driving on the interstate. The two victims were transported by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue to an area hospital with gunshot wounds.
Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes and Crime Scene units responded to the scene to investigate.
Further investigation revealed, a newer model white BMW 840i series side-swiped the victims’ Nissan Sentra. At that point, shots were fired by the driver of the BMW. The male victim sustained injuries that were not life threatening; however, the female, Ana Estevez, succumbed to her injuries.
A third victim, who was in a separate vehicle, was later identified at a nearby hospital. The third victim was a juvenile female and sustained injuries that were not life threatening. Detectives believed the same BMW was also involved in this shooting that occurred on Interstate 95 between Atlantic Boulevard and Sample Road.
The investigation was turned over to BSO’s Homicide Unit. After reviewing evidence and witness statements in the case, detectives arrested Williams in Pembroke Pines.
He has been booked into the BSO Main Jail, facing one count of first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm.”
