BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Broward County School District is reminding our readers with students in Broward public schools that no bags are permitted in school this week — the final week of school for public school students in Broward County.
Much like what Palm Beach County students were told last week, no bags, backpacks, or lunchboxes are permitted. Lunches may be sent in a “clear disposable container or plastic bag with ice or other cooling item.” No other bag is permitted. This is in effect from Monday, June 5th, through the final day of school on Thursday, June 8th.
This is the official statement from school district officials, “To ensure the safety of students and staff, no bags, backpacks, or lunchboxes are permitted on school campuses from Monday, June 5 – Thursday, June 8. Personal hygiene items can be brought in a small, zippered bag, and lunch can be brought in a clear container or plastic bag.
A public meeting is set for mid-June in Broward County to discuss a potential clear bag mandate for the 2023-2024 school year.
