BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The woman reported missing from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport days ago was found dead in a body of water in Fort Lauderdale. The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued this statement Friday afternoon:

Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Missing Person’s Unit say 70-year-old Caroline Woolery-Walters was found deceased in a body of water. Shortly after 5:30 p.m., Thursday, June 8, Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting a body in the river near the 1500 block of Southwest Fourth Street in Fort Lauderdale.

A BSO missing persons alert was issued on June 7, after Woolery-Walters was last seen near 300 Terminal Drive at Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Woolery-Walters was traveling from Jamaica to visit family in Philadelphia.

The investigation into her disappearance and death continues. Woolery-Walters was 70-years-old. It was unclear why she left the airport while apparently changing planes.
