BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Sprinkles and Scoops, an ice cream parlor at 899 East Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton is facing a slightly bizarre inspection violation issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. It’s the second violation for the same issue over several months.
The issue: there is no running hot water in the facility. It’s unclear why there is no hot running water. The lack of running hot water raises questions about whether utensils are being sanitized. Whether equipment is successfully cleaned. Whether floors are mopped and walls cleaned in a truly sanitary way.
The first violation for the lack of running hot water was first recorded in March of 2023. At that time, the violation was noted and the restaurant was informed that an inspector would return at an unannounced time. That unannounced time was June 14th, and incredible, the hot water problem was still a problem. The official language in a report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com:
“No hot running water to entire establishment **Warning** – From follow-up inspection 2023-06-14: **Admin Complaint.**
The administrative complaint has no immediate impact on the operations of Sprinkles and Scoops. It also won’t make hot water suddenly appear. Sprinkles and Scoops is registered to an Ira Cohen of Boca Raton, according to the Florida Secretary of State.
